About
The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) regulations will be implemented
in 2006. All companies must recycle redundant equipment such as fluorescent tubes
and lighting. The Environment Agency is the enforcing authority for these regulations.
We aim to protect your workforce and the environment. We safely crush the tubes
on site and ensure the waste is sent to a permitted recycling site. These sites are
audited to give you the confidence that your waste is being dealt with in a legally
compliant manner. We provide an audit trail for your use. Our machine is designed to
minimise exposure to mercury vapour and phosphor dust through a built in particle
filter and a carbon absorption system. The mercury and phosphor powder are
separated and contained for recovery, as are the glass and aluminum caps. All
collections are fully audited. All containers are labeled and Duty of Care transfer notes
are provided. The eventual treatment and disposal route is tracked. |
